The sun had set over an hour ago. It left the circus ground shrouded in darkness. But of course, it wasn't dark. Lights from the big tent and the surrounding outsides kept the whole place lit up. Eva had found this out her first day that it didn't go dark until way past midnight, and even then, it wasn't a place of sleeping. People and mutants alike stayed up almost all night creeping around the dark fair grounds, like little bandits in the night. Eva hadn't feared for herself of course. If anyone tried to break in, she felt reasonably sure she could protect herself. Still, it gave the whole place a feeling of splendor.
However, instead of sleeping, Eva was playing with Dog-Dog. It had only been two weeks here and she already owned four cats, all the strays she had found roaming around, and this cute dog. He seemed reasonably feed, just ownerless. And one big bat of his big puppy dog eyes were all it took for Eva to adopt him. The two had bonded instantly. Eva had found no rules on pets, and therefor wasn't worried about being found out. Maybe that Mister Cat person wouldn't like it, but it didn't really matter.
Eva threw the ball again, having Dog-Dog chase it, then bring it back to her. A very simple game of fetch. Both Eva and Dog-Dog seemed to be enjoying themselves. Her mother always use to be allergic to animals, and therefor the family had never owned one. But now her mother was dead and her father and brother were gone. There was no one here to tell her no.
Suddenly, Dog-Dog stopped, dropping the ball from his mouth. His whole body began to tense, and his hackles went up, staring off into the distantance. "Hello? Anyone there?" Eva called cheerfully, as she ran her fingers through the dog's shaggy coat.

Zeek had been walking past tents and lights, he hadn't anywhere decent to stay as yet, and often just rested upon a cloud somewhere. But, as it was, he wasn't too tired at the moment, and was more than able to take walking around the parks and people's homes.
Every now and then he saw a cat run by in a certain direction, and it was very rare to him, to see a herd of cats all headed in one direction. And he couldn't imagine any logical explanation for it. Unless there was a mouse buffet open, and he'd only ever read about those in children's stories. Yes, Zeek was an adult that read the occaissonal children's tale. He'd only had that happen to him once or twice as a child, and every now and then he'd read about the happiness the princess would experience as a prince rescued her. It was sweet, and he often became nostalgic in the sense.
But, back to the matter at hand, the cats. Zeek's curiosity was held, and he was now walking after the cat he had taken a liking too. A matted white cat that stood away from the others. He stooped, upon finding it walking on in it's own direction and picked it up. He held it against him for a moment, it struggled against him for a while, before settling. And, as the man stroked the cat, befriending it, he heard a voice. Zeek wasn't sure if it was aimed at him, but he replied nonetheless. "Hello to you too." He purred softly, the voice he had heard was a happy one, and it was nice. He was vaguely intrigued, and stepped forward into a pool of light, so, whoever had spoken to him could see who they were talking. Alas, it was a one way road and he hadn't spotted who he was addressing.

Dog-Dog saw Zeek first and began to growl. Eva calmed him by allowing a single note fall from her throat. It rang true, and the dog was quieted instantly. As if it the wonders didn't cease, Eva kept finding out more and more about her voice as she lived in the circus. This little talent didn't seem very useful, but it helped.
Eva squinted into the darkness, and a man emerged. He was rather tall and had a long main of hair. The man seemed like someone she had seen before. Maybe he was one of the men from the past, where she had blacked out for months. But he didn't seem like it. Eva assumed that whatever had happened then, wasn't anything good. She had come out with weird vocal abilities, and she generally assumed that it wasn't supposed to be used for good. Whomever had did it, most likely wanted her back.
But then again, the man did not seem threatening. Dog-Dog walked up to him, and sat down, tilting his head. An obvious show of questioning. Eva, seeing that her lovely dog approved of the man, stepped forward. And then it hit her. She knew who he was! "Hey! You;re that guy. I auditioned after you. You floated on clouds. It was really cool. I don't think you saw me, 'cause you left. I was singing and such."

Zeek laughed softly. Nodding all the same, his voice was a little hoarse, making his laughter sound vaguely gruff, but nothing to cause alarm over. "Yes, I suppose I'm known as 'that guy that sits on clouds', but it's a compliment for a pretty blue haired lady like yourself to tell me. However, I did hear your singing, marvelous job too. Captivating." Zeek complimented, obviously more than intrigued with this blue haired girl, he took steps towards her, following the source of the voice. "I did leave, true, but your voice carries." He admitted, walking towards her as he held the cat in his arms. It was more or less asleep now, or rather, it seemed to be asleep. It was purring rather loudly. Maybe it was just happy? Despite having had a cat, he could never quite tell the difference between happy and asleep. Especially when one's eyes were closed like that.
Zeek hadn't noticed Dog-Dog, and hadn't seen the canine sat by his leg, and had effectively just walked away from a pooch looking for attention. "And," He continued, his stretch of words seemingly unending, "You may call me Zeek."

Eva smiled at the man as he spook. He didn't look so terrifying now that Eva saw the cat in his arms. No one could be bad if they had a cat. And, Eva loved cats. So the man must be good, her mind came to the conclusion. She did a half wave as the man stepped towards her. His hair changed from a dramatic purple to a sort of tinged grey as it hit the light. Eva found it fascinating how hair could change color in light. Ever since she'd waken up with a head full of blue hair, she'd stopped looking in the mirror. It was such an odd shade, and Eva wasn't ready to accept the change just yet. It had only been a year, so what was the rush?
Adian blushed at the compliment. She had yet to be complimented for her song, besides the weird cat guy. And Eva hadn't seen him since. "My voice carries, huh?" Eva said, flashing a toothy smile, "I guess it does, doesn't it?"
Eva looked towards Dog-Dog. He had a rather dejected look on his face. He stared at his little doggy toes, perhaps thinking. Doing something similar to a shrug. Dog-Dog picked himself up and walked past Zeek and back in front of his owner. He sat down and continued to look up at the stranger. "Well, Mr. Cat Holder. This is Dog-Dog. What's your cat's name? I've got four. Heh. Silly bunch of them really." Eva said shrugging, pointing towards the trailer, where a grooming white cat sat in the windowsill, making it painfully obvious she cared little for what was going on. "Zeek is it? I like that name. I'm Eva!" Eva proclaimed grandly. The lights above them flickered as she said it, and Eva couldn't help but try to hide another grin. "Nice to meet ya!" She said, extending her hand.

Zeek smiled, ignoring the wiggle of the cat in his arms for the time being. He knew a cat that wriggled to be a cat ready to claw someone if not released. But he ignored that fact, and smiled warmly to the woman. "Rest assured, it not only carried, but it was pleasant to listen to." The twenty one year old moved towards her, his hair swishing in the breeze that had been following him. He hadn't quite gained control over that particular breeze. He had summoned it, then had been unable to do anything else. Usually it would have vanished, but it was now following him. Still, he wasn't complaining. It was giving his hair a wavy appearance, instead of the ruler straight apparel it usually had.
"Dog-Dog? original. Still, cute dog. And, I believe this cat is actually one of yours. I was following it, it seemed a bit of a loner and I cuddled it." Zeek gave a small, light hearted laugh. Her words were enough to cheer him up from his night time stroll. "Thank you dear. It's an honor to meet you too." The man stood by her, just for a moment before crouching to sit upon the floor and let the cat go.
