The show was a success! The audience roared in laughter and their claps sounded like thunder as they were entertained. Cheshire was certainly proud of his family and glad they were able to bring smiles to people's faces. At least he thought that was the case.
Cheshire's ears caught the faint sound of crying. Golden eyes searched the stands where he found a young girl who seemed frightened by the fire act. He couldn't have any of his guest disturbed like this. With quick movement, he secretly escaped to the stands and found his place by her, giving her a charming smile. The girl was obviously shocked by his presence but his smile seemed to have a calming effect upon her. "Do not worry, Love. There is nothing to fear." The cat went on to assure her the act was perfectly safe and eventually made her find it enjoyable.
As the act came to an end, Ches found the girl was now perfectly fine. He bowed slightly and bid her adieu. But as he walked away, he felt a rough tug on his tail. His eyes watered and he held back a yowl of pain, not wanting to disturb the show. He looked back to see her still holding his tail, petting the soft fur and admiring the odd coloring. Once she realized he was watching, her face reddened into a blush. "I'm sorry, Mr. Cat... I couldn't help it."
While in pain, he had to act as if it were nothing. A man with cat ears and a tail was not normal so he had to act as if they were just part of a costume. If the presence of a mutant in the circus got out, it would end badly. "It's... fine, Love..." As she released him, he quickly made his way to the center ring to dismiss the audience.
Once releaved of his host duties, Cheshire made his way to the grounds. His tail was still throbbing in pain but as usual, he had to try and avoid showing any pain while humans were roaming about. He loved humans! Everyone of them! They were so interesting! But he love for them faltered a bit after that little incident. He couldn't blame the child though. She was simply curious. Like children who went to the mall to meet Santa Claus during Christmas, they always wanted to tug at the man's beard to see if it were real.
Cheshire found himself a spot to relax, a area hidden behind some of the tents. Once there, he found himself a barrel and sat down, retrieving his injured tail and checking to see if it was just sore or if something was truly wrong. It was quite difficult to keep his true identity hidden. Mother always told him he should hide his ears and tail but he didn't like to hide them away. It was rather uncomfortable for the man....

Zeek had not taken part in the most recent show. He was just settling down, and was worried his act would be a little..Negative, considering being in a new place for him was stressful. And stress would always knock down his game a little.
But, despite not being in it, he had watched and applauded. And when the fire act came up, he cheered, forgetting his usually composed self. It was then, however, that he saw his Boss. The Cheshire Cat fondling his tail. Zeek smirked at first, finding it amusing, before his curiosity took over and he found himself following the crimson haired man.
He didn't stop this, following his boss, no matter how creepy it could seem. Zeek had kept his voice down, along with his footsteps, muffling them. He stood upon a thin cloud as he walked, his footsteps no more than a 'poof' that was barely audible. But it was now, that Zeek saw Ches sitting upon a barrel inbetween some tents. "Are you alright Cat?" Zeek called, stood by the canvas of a dome.
Zeek's purple hair was loose today, for a change, and it went down to his mid-thigh. The pale purple was a great contrast to his deep magenta waistcoat and pressed violet trousers. His shoes were close to black, but nothing more than a deep plum. Zeek stood, twirling his long hair around his slender fingers as he waited for his answer. [/center]

As he continued to examine his tail, he bit his lip as the pain grew upon being touched. Looked like something was wrong... 'I really don't feel like going to a vet,' he thought with a sigh. Yes if he ever had any injuries, he couldn't go to a regular hospital. Doctors would be a little shocked to see him. The vet would be a little surprised as well due to his odd coloring of his feline form but more likely to treat him without suspecting him to be a mutant. Unfortunately... Like most animals, he wasn't particularly fond of the vet.
"Are you alright Cat?"
The cat tensed up a bit as he slowly lifted his head to see who had caught him. Luckily, it wasn't a guest as he expected but instead it was Zeek. The new addition to the circus. While not all that pleased about being snuck up on, he was happy to have company. It made the situation more bareable.
"Hello, Zeek." He tried to sound happy as usual but the voice came out pained, to his demise. "Uh... It's nothing," he answered while carefully hiding his tail behind him. While the Cheshire Cat loved attention, this time, he'd like to avoid it. Perhaps if he kept his little injury a secret, he wouldn't have to go to the vet! 'A great idea, Mr. Cheshire,' he commented on his own intelligence. At least that's the way he thought of it...

Zeek looked at the man-cat with soft purple eyes. "Then why is the famed Cheshire Cat hiding away on some barrells, away from the charming spectators?" The young man questioned, taking a few steps forward. He wasn't frightened of his boss, the man had quickly won the intellect over. He had given him a home, or was going to, and had just been a friend. Something everyone needed at times like these. But, back to the matter, he was concerned. "Are you sure?" He asked a moment later, despite his words were not inkeeping with his earlier question.
He was no fool, he knew the cat was injured. He knew he also wanted to help. He'd do anything he could, though, he could not do much. But, Zeek did know, however, that Cheshire was hiding the tail many people envied. He had heard it was soft and silky to the touch. Yet he had never experienced this himself.

"Then why is the famed Cheshire Cat hiding away on some barrells, away from the charming spectators?"
The words brought a charming smirk, he enjoyed being commented on and looked highly of. But he was irritated and happy about the question. Happy because Zeek cared but irritated that he was questioning him when he wished the man would just believe him. He didn't want people to know about this little injury because as soon as it got out, it would be hopeless. She'd be sending everyone to hunt him down so she could take him to get checked.
As the man moved forward, Cheshire tensed up a bit. Something told him that Zeek did not believe him one bit. Unfortunately...
"Are you sure?"
His ears drooped slightly. Cheshire was never really a good liar which was rather obvious to most. So when he tried to tell him he was fine, the words didn't quite get out. The cat pulled his knees to his chest and pouted slightly. "No..."

"If it's something you don't want people to know..Then I won't say a word. But it's good to talk. Books have taught me as much." Zeek looked to the Pink haired man and smiled softly, as warmly as he could.
"I want to help you Cat. Talk to me?" Zeek pleaded, now stood in front of the cat as he patiently waited for an answer. Due to his upbringing, the purple haired man had been brought up to be patient. And other than having the stomach of a bird, he had the patience of a saint. What a mix he was.

When Zeek told him he wouldn't say a word about the ordeal to anyone, Cheshire felt as if he could trust him. But he wasn't sure he wanted to talk about it still. If Zeek wanted to help him, there was no doubt that the help required was to go get it checked out by a specialist.
"I want to help you Cat. Talk to me?"
After a moment or so of thinking it over, he decided, Why not? It would be nice to talk to someone about it and if the vet became the only option, it wasn't like he could run away and hide out for a while. Cats were rather good at that.
Cheshire lifted his eyes to the man as he began to speak. "I think I might have injured my tail... When the show was going on, I went to calm down a girl since she was scared of the fire act. She ended up yanking my tail when I got up to leave..." The mention of the incident merely reminded him of what he was going through and how the slightest movement sent a wave of pain.

[OOC: Sorry about the shortness of the previous post, my cruddy laptop seemed to cut half of it off...]
The purple haired man touched his chin softly. Pondering the options. He didn't know of the Cat's fear of vets, but nor had he thought of the vet in the first place. He saw his boss as more of a person than a cat, unless in his cat form in which case Zeek saw him as a pet. As bad as that may be, it was a fact. "I see. I once had a cat, and I once trod on his tail. It went limp for a bit, then we gave him some catnip and he was all good." And by 'we', Zeek of course meant his brother and himself. The two had felt guilty over the cat's injury. But the pet had soon gotten over it, once the catnip was introduced. "Perhaps it's not as bad as you fear it to be?" He asked, taking the last few strides over. "May I see?" Zeek then asked, curious as to not only the injury, but the texture of the tail. He had been curious for a little while, but felt it too forward to just blurt out that he wanted to touch part of the man's body. He feared that'd be a little too much to be normal. But he was a mutant, so he wasn't normal. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

He tried to stifle the laughter but it just came out. He didn't mean to be rude but he found the story funny. Was Zeek actually proposing that he use catnip? After he calmed down, he looked back to the man with an amused grin. "You know that stuff get's us high, right?" Yes, catnip was a drug to his kind. The thought of using the drug was funny to him.
"Perhaps it's not as bad as you fear it to be?"
Cheshire really hoped so. He'd had his tail tugged before many times. Even by some of the performers! They all seemed to want to touch it for some reason. Now that thought disturbed him slightly. It was a reason he tried to avoid people from getting close to it. It was rather difficult to do so.
"May I see?"
Eyebrows raised, a little surprised by the request. Though he probably shouldn't had been. If the man wished to help, he supposed he had to check it. But was he about to give the man permission to touch his tail? "Er... You can see it," he answered, putting emphasis on the word see. With that, he reached back and carefully lifted the tail into view, biting his lip rather roughly as he moved it a little too much.
[OOC; It's fine. Don't worry about it.]

Zeek's cheeks flared at the whole 'high' comment. "I..Er..No. My cat just enjoyed it, a lot." He shrugged his wiry shoulders, an embarassed look on his face. He had once heard that catnip was euphoric to a feline, but he didn't realize it was an actual drug. "You know, for a laugh, I may just pass you some catnip, without you knowing of course." Zeek joked softly.
It was a moment before the tail was offered to him. He held his hands up in a fan either side of his head. "Yes sir, no touching." He had had the desire to touch the tail, but he made no move to disobey his boss' desires.
Taking note of his wince, Zeek gestured to several parts of the man's tail. Only pointing his fingers at the area, while his fingers ventured no where near the man's extra limb. "These areas look bruised, or seem bruised."

"I..Er..No. My cat just enjoyed it, a lot."
"That would be why," he joked with a laugh. He couldn't help but picture it. The injured cat sniffing up the catnip and quickly feeling better afterward. And poor Zeek and his brother not aware of the fact their pet was probably high. Cats enjoyed it alright. Much like humans enjoyed their drugs.
"You know, for a laugh, I may just pass you some catnip, without you knowing of course."
While he found the joke funny, he looked at it seriously. "Wouldn't be a good idea. Mother would kill us if she caught us," he replied with a smirk.
Cheshire was glad to hear that Zeek would not touch it. It made him relax a little which was what he really needed right now. Stress and pain didn't work well together.
The piercing at the end of his tail dangled lifelessly as he waited for Zeek to try and figure out what was wrong. The cat watched closely, making sure that the man would not get too close. While he was thankful for the help, he didn't want anyone touching it right now. More pain would come and that was the last thing he needed.
"These areas look bruised, or seem bruised."
Cheshire looked up to him hopefully, "So that means it's not that bad, right? I wont have to go to the vet?" He was so glad no one could see them otherwise they probably would have thought the host had gone completely mad.

Zeek let out a small breath of a laugh. "No, you won't need to go the vet, you will, however, need to..How to put this..Not wag it? I suggest keeping it still, or in a comfortable position, so you don't get yourself hurt. It's very likely you'll damage it worse if you prance about gay as can be with your tail held high. As magnificent as it is, we don't need it getting more hurt, do we Sir?" Zeek questioned, his body was a little sore. But it was fine, he could handle stooping over a little longer to not only reach his boss' height, but inspect his tail. "Although, I'm no professional, you may require someone's help. Someone that knows what they're doing. I believe there's a girl here, Eva, who has a lot of cats." Zeek more spoke to himself, considering the options that swirled through his mind aloud.

The fact that he wouldn't have to go to the vet relieved him. He hated being terrified of such a thing but couldn't help it. The veterinarian by itself was none too pleasing, being quite a little rough with the animals. But the needles and fact he would be stuck in a cramped cage did not make it better. He would much rather just go to a normal doctor than to have to deal with that. However, that wasn't an option in his case.
Zeek's advice, on the other hand, did not seem too welcoming. Wag it? He wasn't a dog! He did not wag his tail. It simply swayed and really wasn't controllable. With hard concentration, he could perhaps manage to keep it still but it seemed to move on it's own. Reacting with his emotions. As it was doing now, expanding into a more bushy tail. Luckily it did not hurt him as it would if he were actually moving it.
His comment also caught him off guard. "Magnificent, huh?" The Cat was rather proud of his ears and tail. They were the unique features that set him aside from the rest of the world. They were soft and silky to the touch and the odd coloring caught everyone's eyes. Of course it was also a curse as well. Living a normal human life wasn't possible for the man. While some thought of it as magnificent as Zeek had, others found it very strange and ridiculed him for it. At first, this little fact bothered him greatly and was the reason he lived as a simple stray on the streets prior to the circus. But now, he'd gotten more used to it and didn't seem to care as much when others looked down on him.
"Although, I'm no professional, you may require someone's help. Someone that knows what they're doing. I believe there's a girl here, Eva, who has a lot of cats."
Ah, yes. He recalled the many cats he found roaming the grounds. They seemed to have come out of nowhere one day. They were rather friendly. Well most of them anyway. Seeing as he was a tomcat, the other tomcats weren't too fond of him. Oh well. What can you do? "Eva. Yes she might be able to help me," he replied as he ran his fingers through his hair, letting the tail rest on his lap.

Zeek nodded softly, not saying anything for the time being. He found he had nothing to add, he would've made a comment on how magnificent it was, but he supposed that could've come off as creepy. The purple haired man smiled warmly, although he was unaware of his Boss' past, and possibly present, he wasn't going to be any less friendly.
However, on the comment of Eva, Zeek nodded firmly, his smile wiping off his face. "Indeed, as nice as she is, I wouldn't know where she'd be right now. Which would make it hard to suggest seeing her as soon as possible." Zeek frowned, his expressions changing at a rapid pace. A moment ago he had been smiling, then he'd been a blank canvas, now he was looking fairly distressed. "Do you know of anyone else that could be able to help?" Zeek questioned, he doubted he'd get a useful answer. Without seeming rude, the cat's first option had been the vet, and other than that, the man didn't seem to have any other ideas.
Zeek reached his full height, stretching his back as he waited for an answer. He looked over his shoulder, momentarialy thinking someone was there, but he soon found he was wrong, and had been fooled by a crow flying low. Zeek turned back to the cat.

"Indeed, as nice as she is, I wouldn't know where she'd be right now. Which would make it hard to suggest seeing her as soon as possible."
How disappointing. It would be hard to seek her help if they had no clue where she could be. Yes, he was rather close to the performers, but he didn't get into their personal lives unless they asked. So he had no idea where she might have gone. "Yeah. Guess that is a problem," he commented rubbing his chin in a thoughtful manner.
"Do you know of anyone else that could be able to help?"
He thought about it. The only thing he could suggest is the vet and there was no way he'd go there willingly. But there was someone else. But choosing her to help would certainly end in a visit to the pet doctor. Yes. Mother liked to get him taken care of by a professional. It was rather difficult to treat a cat man. So he'd much rather not seek her help. "No... I don't."
Cheshire looked back up to Zeek as he awaited some sort of plan. But as he waited, his eyes dilated at the sight of a crow. His cat instincts immediately sprung and he shifted into his cat form with tremendous speed, starting after it. But as soon as his tail was moved, the pain shot through again, causing him to stop before he got too far. The Cat yowled in pain as he lowered his limp tail and sat down. "Stupid cat instincts," he hissed through his teeth. He tried to control them but the cat side of him seemed to overpower the human.
